Originally released in 2002, Over Emotion by Lyric & Natali joins PHONO Sounds UK in a newly curated reissue that revisits a defining moment of early-2000s dance music, while bringing the track firmly into the present.
The original mix of Over Emotion is a timeless club record emotive, driving, and unmistakably rooted in the golden era of progressive and melodic house. First released on legendary imprints Hooj Choons and Perfecto Records, the track quickly became a favourite of key tastemakers of the era, including Paul Oakenfold, who regularly championed it in his sets, as well as Tiësto, who helped push the record to international dancefloors. Its soaring atmospheres and hypnotic groove made it a standout at the time, and more than two decades later it still carries the same emotional impact and forward momentum.
This special reissue on PHONO Sounds UK restores the original version for a new generation of listeners, while also introducing a forward-looking remix package from a hand-picked selection of contemporary artists. Each remix reinterprets Over Emotion through a modern club
lens, ranging from peak-time energy to deeper, groove-focused adaptations, all while staying true to the emotional essence that made the track a classic.

Tenacious is a powerhouse trio of House Music DJ/Producers hailing from London, England. Composed of Dave Reeves, Steve Reeves, and Lewis Belliss, Tenacious has built a formidable reputation in the underground house music scene. Known not only for their infectious beats but also for their highly popular Saturday night radio show on CentreForce Radio 883 DAB & Online, where they consistently deliver top-notch underground house music to a dedicated audience every week.
Beyond the airwaves, Tenacious has made a significant impact at major UK house music events and festivals, including gigs at Egg London for Housework, Fabric London for Clockwork Orange, and large-scale festivals such as We Are FSTVL. Furthermore, their influence stretches internationally, with performances in Ibiza, Corfu and Boston.
Tenacious delivers a powerful, contemporary reinterpretation of Over Emotion, injecting the original’s emotive core with driving low-end and modern club energy. Their remix is built for peak-time moments, balancing tension and release while retaining the intensity that made the original so memorable.
Tocadisco is a Cologne-based DJ and producer who began DJing at 16 and turned professional in 2000. Self-taught as a musician and producer, he broke through in 2004 with his debut single “Nobody Likes the Records That I Play” on Superstar Recordings, which became a worldwide hit.
Following extensive global touring, 2005 marked another milestone with his remix of Mylo’s “In My Arms,” one of the most played tracks of the summer. He went on to deliver high-profile
remixes for artists including Axwell & Ingrosso, New Order, Deep Dish, Pet Shop Boys, Moby, Mylo, Booka Shade, Enigma, and David Guetta, among many others.
His remix of The Egg’s “Walking Away” was named “Biggest Dance Single of 2006” by Mixmag, later used by David Guetta for an official bootleg and featured in a worldwide Citroën campaign. Alongside releases under his own name, Tocadisco also works as AC/OT, releasing a series of EPs and underground projects.
Tocadisco injects the track with his unmistakable house pedigree, delivering a driving, forward-moving remix built on tight percussion and relentless groove. Michael Anthony, an NYC-based Italian-American DJ and producer, has been turning heads in the electronic music world with his melodic and progressive house creations. Known for his
releases on respected labels like Lush Sunday and Consequence of Society, Michael’s tracks have secured spots on prominent Spotify playlists such as All New Dance and Tantra, as well as frequent mentions in Dancing Astronaut’s New Music Friday feature.
His innovative productions have garnered support from top-tier DJs, including David Guetta, Nora En Pure, Cristoph, and Guy Mantzur. A standout moment in his career was his remix of “White Flag” for Kings of Tomorrow and Alex Mills, which climbed Traxsource charts and solidified his reputation for reimagining classics.
Michael’s live performances are equally captivating, with appearances at iconic venues like Avant Gardner, Blue Marlin in Cabo San Lucas, and New City Gas in Montreal. His back-to-back set with Cristoph during Teksupport’s summer series at sea remains a career highlight.
Michael Anthony takes a deeper, more atmospheric approach, reworking Over Emotion into a hypnotic and emotionally rich journey. Subtle textures, evolving grooves, and restrained energy define his remix, making it equally suited to late-night dancefloors and more introspective listening.
Madraas is an Italian electronic music duo known for their deep, organic, and melodic house music, releasing tracks and EPs like Meiku, Aurora, and collaborations such as “Njohi” and “Dwokire,” gaining traction on labels like Kindisch, Songuara, and All Day I Dream. They blend atmospheric, emotional grooves with tactile percussion, creating hypnotic soundscapes for fans of melodic and organic house.
Madraas reimagines the track through a darker, more progressive lens, focusing on tension, momentum, and immersive sound design. Their remix slowly unfolds, drawing listeners in with layered rhythms and a moody reinterpretation that highlights the track’s emotional depth.
KINTAR is an Argentine DJ / producer based in Ibiza, renowned worldwide for his distinctive sound that seamlessly blends an array of influences. Drawing inspiration from ancient instruments across diverse cultures, he masterfully fuses them with synthesizers, creating a unique and immersive electronic soundscape.
He is also the founder of Sudam, a highly respected Ibiza-based record label consistently ranking on Beatport’s charts. In 2021, Kintar launched Summerians, an acclaimed party series that has redefined the electronic music experience. Hosting over a hundred events worldwide to
date, Summerians has captivated audiences in Ibiza, Tulum, Bali, New York, Dubai, Miami, Phuket and Sardinia.
KINTAR delivers a groove-driven, melodic remix that sits comfortably between house and progressive territory. Known for his refined musical sensibility, KINTAR’s version emphasises flow and atmosphere, offering a warm yet energetic take that works across a wide range of dancefloor settings.
Max, aka Jaxx Inc, is an electronic DJ and producer from the north of France, working across house, tech house, and techno. He has released music on leading labels including Kontor Records, Armada Music, Smash The House, Dirty Dutch, Stashed Music, Make ’Em Move, House Heads, Karma London, Pornostar Records, Tru Musica, Blanco y Negro, Ego Music / Warner Music Italy, and Universal Music NL/AU, among others.
As a remixer, he has worked with Spada (IT) and Sam Feldt (NL) after winning the Spinnin’ Records Talent Pool World Remix Contest, and has also remixed for Like Mike, one half of Belgian duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, on their Smash The House imprint.
His collaborations include artists such as Chuckie (NL), Crazibiza (USA), Charlotte Devaney, Amy Lauren, and Phat Suppli (UK). In late 2020, he won the Armada Music “Test Your Skill” world contest.
Jaxx Inc has performed DJ sets at clubs and festivals across France and Belgium.
